PSP and speech

Postby Brutus22 » Wed Jun 21, 2017 5:18 am

Hi everyone
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Mick's is having a lot of difficulty with his speech. Sometimes when I ask him a question he will just stare straight ahead and not answer at all. Maybe it is to frustrating for him to even try. We do practice words but when he wants to tell me something the sentence is all slurred together. It can take forever to decipher and he gets really aggravated. I don't want him to stop all together but I feel like we are headed in that direction.

We eventually did the squeeze my hand method: no squeeze for no and one squeeze for yes. That worked until he couldn't figure anything out any more.

Wishing you well,

My father was mute for over a year. Approaches we took:
* one finger for yes, two for no
* one eye blink for yes, two for no
* move your foot for yes, keep it still for no

Eventually, nothing worked.
